New Canadian Politics Thread

I got my family doctor through HealthConnect in like a couple weeks during COVID last year. Crazy that’d it’d vary so much between Durham region and Ottawa.

PP's approval ratings in Quebec are pretty junk the last time I saw them. Like 18-20% junk.

Far-right Western Canadian Reform-party nutters typically don’t play well in Quebec. Even if they’re Anglos with a French name.

So as much as Quebec is pretty wild and unpredictable, we can probably be pretty confident that if they’re not voting Liberal, they’ll just go for the Bloc en masse long before they’d support a Poilievre-led CPC.

Ontario is the one that worries me.

A lot of apps use a tracking feature but many give the option to turn it off. I’d bet most people just ignore that option.

At first glance that makes sense. We're talking about massive reductions in the risks associated with sex.

98% effective at eliminating pregnancy (not per encounter, per year), STI's that you get from penetration (the clap, the burn, the HIV....no such luck for skin contact STI's like herpes though)

They're basically two entirely difference activities when it comes to risk level. Makes sense on the surface to require specific consent for condom free fun time.

Would be interesting to know how many Ontario nurses just up and quit within a month or two of Ford cruising to a second straight majority government.

I also wonder how much longer it’s going to be before Ford transitions from purposely breaking the health care system to openly proposing privatization as his solution.
