I have heard of black face....I have never heard of brown face before.

Black face isn't offensive because it's white people pretending to be black...black face is offensive because hollywood, instead of casting black people to play black characters, would have white actors wear shoe polish on their face and act like a ridiculous cariciture of common (extremely racist) tropes of how black people acted.

I'm not commenting on whether or not this is offensive (I laughed my nuts off when I saw it the first time, which usually means that it's pretty offensive to someone, somewhere), but this /= black face.

Honestly...insulting to the history of racism towards black people to suggest otherwise. Until someone can show me a north american cultural analogue, it holds as a solid argument.

Someone can find this offensive, without calling it something it's not. This isn't "blackface", it just fucking isn't. Anyone calling it blackface misses the point as to why blackface is offensive.

I’m not sure how much this will matter. People who are offended enough by this photo to change their votes don’t strike me as likely to run into the arms of the CPC, for the most part.
