Yeah, if Mitch is once again a playoff ghost during another early playoff exit, I honestly don’t give a shit. Let him walk.

The only way I’m comfortable with him staying here and getting PAID long-term is if his balls finally drop and he plays and produces like a stud during a playoff run that, at minimum, makes it to the third round and finishes strong (unlike when they finally broke the 1st round losing streak only to be easily brushed aside and humiliated in the 2nd round).
 
if mitch didn't want to be here he could have gone to a great team in carolina and still hit the UFA market.

rejecting the move if he doesn't want to sign here when he knows they had a deal worked out with rants means he would be intentionally double-screwing us which even if he's a prick i doubt he would do.
 
Listened to Chris Johnston and he said the Mariner camp isn’t negotiating at all. They are using the UFA leverage. Not that he doesn’t want to stay, but he’s playing all his cards to get paid. So if Rantanen would’ve signed have to explore it.
