No Excuses No Limits! The mother fucking goddamn season thread

This one was 2017-2018

Hmm, I guess that's kinda familiar but I wasn't focusing on the background music that the crowd mostly drowns out anyway.

Truthfully, I don't care about the song. If they left the H&O song, I'd have been fine with that too. Hope the replacement isn't worse...

It's not the quality of the song, it's what it represents at this point. 5 years of disappointment during a period we were supposed to be contenders.

I'm glad it's over.
yeah, they could play the sesame street theme or nickelback or herman's hermits and while maybe technically a worse choice wont be associated with as much failure

I'm good with a new song every year. Just don't care all that much because it ain't our problem.

Unless the core 4 is just sick of that song by the time we get to games 6 and 7 every year, and refuse to do anything that might cause them to hear it again in those games. Then it's a problem.

on the first night of the season, i have to say unlike last year when I could still hope that Muzzin was healthy, for the first time since we added Brodie to give us a very good 1-2-3 punch, we go into this season with a clear hole on the blueline. The last couple years where we entered each year with two 1B and one 2B type guys at the top of the dcorps was actually a strength (not a weakness like most thought), this year with no muzz and a 33yr old Brodie it looks more like one 1B and two 3A types. That's not awful (especially considering the quality of the bottom 3D) but definitely looking for an addition of at least another 1B type.

Fully agreed. The thing is, our forwards have never been better. By far the deepest, most talented squad we've probably ever seen in most of our lifetimes. At the deadline, our focus will probably be on adding a big time dman, and so long as Sammy is doing well, having only that one hole to fill will probably be very doable given we have some good prospects and our 1st still in our pocket.

Would be nice to see what Lilly is between now and the deadline.

I wonder if we'd trade Klingberg as a rental to some other playoff team at the deadline and actually get back something nice (a 1st??), and then turn around and acquire a much better overall dman to slot in for him.

As always zeke comes through with the negative take.
