OT: American Politics

Tf are you talking about?

I'm saying unelected "experts", who people grant no power over their life to, dictating personal freedoms is unconstitutional and undemocratic, yes.

There's nothing undemocratic or unconstitutional about writing laws to grant specific regulatory power to experts. The experts serve at the whim of your elected officials, there's nothing undemocratic about it.

There is so many examples of "misinformation" that was falsly censored because of "misinformation experts" that it's impossible to provide them all.

Not to mention that whole pandemic thing that transformed society into an authoritarian nightmare.

Hold up, the owner of X, who is actively campaigning for Trump, is in support of Trump??

HOLY SHIT.

Last time I checked, that's part of freedom. Unlike, idk, the government censoring stories and people who they disagree with or think is harmful to the regime.
If Musk was putting his finger on the scale for Harris instead of Trump, how loudly would you be beaking? Especially concerning obvious disinformation?

You are cool with it, because it is your team that is benefiting.

All this back and forth is bullshit. Trump is a convicted fraudster. He is a rapist. He is an authoritarian who will infringe rights 1000x more than anyone else. His real base are crypto-techno bros, the usual oligarchs and the 2025 fascists. His pigeon sucker base are resentful Kristian kracker wrestling crowd losers, who blame immigrants, women, LBGTQ, minorities etc etc for their shitty lives as long as they don’t have to accept responsibility for their own feckless, entitled existence.

What is illegal about a private citizen campaigning for a candidate? How is that equitable to the technofascism where the government conspires with tech companies to censor and promote false narratives via biased algorithms?

If you don't like X, build your own. Musk isn't the government. None of what he's doing is illegal.

If you are reposting conspiracy theories as "fact", and blocking actual fact checking, while it isn't illegal it is wrong.

Now that you have put down your thesaurus, can you provide evidence of said "technofascism where the government conspires with tech companies to censor and promote false narratives via biased algorithms?"

One actual example will do princess.

Clearly you've met @FlyGuy

So if you resist government-sponsored censorship and narratives then you're being unethical is the argument. I think that's patently false but you can believe it all you want, it's not illegal.

Yeah, sure, I can list most large tech companies for you. Old twitter, current Google, current Youtube.

How quickly we forget the wailing and gnashing of teeth from the right at the slightest hint that Jack and Twitter *might* have had the teeniest, tiniest bias to the left? Remember Twitter Files Parts 1-37? MTG demanding that she should have the right to see pictures of Hunter Biden's dick on Twitter and any attempt to remove it was illegal fascist communism?

Whatever happened to the sanctity of the public square?

Yet Elon Dumbfuck is promoting a biased PAC, breaking election laws and paying for votes, promoting one candidate or denigrating the other in 70% of his posts which he has rigged the platform to force everyone to see, and even blowing Donald Trump in front of a live audience? All of a sudden, it's...

censored by whom?

Not to mention that whole pandemic thing that transformed society into an authoritarian nightmare.

I sincerely believe that you and people like you need to pick up a couple of history books and learn about actual authoritarian nightmares.

It wasn't leftist biast. It was the government directing what was allowed to be said or shared in the public square via the platforms. That's literally government censorship. They'd quite literally tell the companies who to silence, what topics to disallow, etc.

I have listened to many podcasts on the subject. It's always a slippery slope that begins with sacrificing personal liberties for the good of the community and that the government always knows better than the citizen what is best for them. That is true in every instance of it.

Censored by government officials having direct lines of communication to social media companies to direct who to silence, what topics to disallow, what thoughts to ban
