OT: American Politics

Agreed on all of the above. I couldn't figure out the value of any of the polls though, to be honest. Every day, I'd see several different polls come out, some directly contradicting the others, and they all became worthless to me.
These polls have small samples. Contradicting is to be expected. That's why I said look at the aggregates. We don't know which direction the MOE will sway to, but it's the best indicator we have. Everything else was once again proven to be nonsense.

Biden (Jill and Joe) definitely voted for Trump.
I do think that Biden was pleased deep down inside that night.

Push him aside after he beat up Trump on the last one, only to lose your asses to him now? You asked for it.

Now mind you, it was the right decision to push him aside, but first, they shouldn't have waited so long and should've never let him declare to begin with, and second, they shouldn't have cowered in the fear of pushing aside the totally unwinnable VP just because woman/minority/vp status.

if polls AREN'T contradicting each other something is wrong with polling, at least when they're polling something as closely contested as a potus election.

What is your prediction of how Trump is kept in check?

I sincerely want to know.
My prediction is, you can't predict what he's going to do, how the other branches of government are going to react, and what is going to happen. You're just assuming he's going to act on everything that comes out of his mouth, Congress goes along with anything and everything he wants to do, and that the Supreme Court will violate the Constitution and let him break the law? No one man is bigger than the country, and nothing is going to change that, so...relax.

A couple of things.

1) He ran congress as a civilian. Even stopping legislation
2) Supreme Court gave him absolute immunity provided that what he does is "presidential" Being a dictator on day one is not in the constitution.

I think they’ll move to restrict contraceptives in many states, go after same sex-marriage (as SCOTUS foreshadowed), abolish the Department of Education (hopefully States have a plan to cover the funding for special education), denaturalize folks who came in legally, among other things promised.

JFC you're dumb.

Congress is going to rubber stamp everything and so is SCOTUS. And by this time next year, Congress won't have any real power anymore. They'll be about as effective in reigning in Trump as the Russian Duma is at restraining Putin.

There are no more checks, balances, guardrails, Constitution, Bill of Rights, or anything else to restrain him. This is a dictatorship and from now on the only law is what the Dear Leader says it is. He has complete and total immunity to do whatever he wants without consequence.
