Congress is going to rubber stamp everything and so is SCOTUS. And by this time next year, Congress won't have any real power anymore. They'll be about as effective in reigning in Trump as the Russian Duma is at restraining Putin.

There are no more checks, balances, guardrails, Constitution, Bill of Rights, or anything else to restrain him. This is a dictatorship and from now on the only law is what the Dear Leader says it is. He has complete and total immunity to do whatever he wants without consequence.

to me they are separate issues - yah, he said we was gonna deport people during the campaign, and he won. but I still think it's wrong and inhumane and am going to continue to oppose it.

Agreed. The pain and loss of democracy are why we are going nuts here with him winning. There will be immense amount of pain and it will be difficult to watch.

The question is: what can we do about it? We tried to support the side who defended democracy and lost. The answer to this question has become harder when the mandate earned here is clear.
