His administration had a great 4 years, perhaps the best in my lifetime, but I’m looking ahead and fear his gaffes will let Trump off the hook

Hillary beat Trump by 3M votes and still lost, so I’d like a bit of a cushion
 
I don't really get the "Biden should step down because polls" and then saying Kamala, Whitmer, Newsome etc. They've pretty much all done more poorly than him in polling along the way. That's how we got here in the first place really.

Yeah, I don't think you force Biden because polls. You force him out because you worry that he's going to decline even further in the next 4 months that it's going to be very hard for rational people to vote for him. Or you worry that he literally won't make it to election day and suddenly you're forced into some weird last minute thing and everything falls apart.

The fact that even with his troubles he's still polling basically the same as before, they haven't taken a complete dive. And as you say, he's still tended to stay ahead of any alternate option.

He’s leaving…. but, as I mentioned earlier, his image needs to bounce back a bit before he can do so gracefully (instead of forced after a humiliating debate)
 
I fully understand the indignity of a public test...but what if Biden said he'll do whatever trump does...cause I think, warts and all, Biden passes a cognitive test, and trump might not.
