OT: American Politics

"Good Racism' doesn't exist. "Equity' is merely racism with a sociology degree. Racism creates more racism. Equil, not equity.

Bullshit. Again, you can't finally take your foot off of a group's neck after hundreds of years of policy and violence intended specifically to keep them uneducated and poor but then expect them to catch up to everyone else who had a 200 yr head start simply because the foot isn't directly on their neck any longer. Providing a bit of a boost is the fucking least you can do at that point if you're not going to compensate them for what was done to them.

I’m not a podcast guy myself but I think Trump really nailed it by doing a bunch of them from comedy podcasts to tech entrepreneur ones

Great way to reach people

I was trying to be optimistic and hopeful, but the one critique I had about her that I couldn't shake was that there was no such thing as a 5-10 second answer out of her mouth. Nothing concise and to the point. So even though she did an okay job of answering some questions asked of her, it always came off sounding like a planned talking point. So while the ridiculous lying and dementia weave of Trump is fucking painful to listen to, Kamala didn't do enough to differentiate herself from Trump with someone who doesn't actually know the right answer to policy questions & is just listening to the two candidates speak.

and when there is a vacuum the candidate isn't filling, the media tends to fill the gap for them. So we get shit like the media rambling for weeks about how she has no policies despite having a policy document out on her website, etc.

As long as you tolerate any kind of racism it won’t go away. It will always be unfair and lead to resentment.

The certain anti-semitic female politicians you're referring to, that don't have a problem with women and children being raped and killed by savage terrorists, should be fine being raped themselves. It's actually a very moderate viewpoint. Basic logic, and a mere extension of the do unto others principle. You're honestly such a shameless shit-disturber, but it's your favorite thing to do, so have at it.

This is demented.

Anyway my goal now is to step away from the newsreader, focus on my life and immediate issues. So much of the world live under shit regimes and sometimes you just have to carry on and make do.

Monana’s quote basically sums it up

She has the makings of a great AG, or something like that.

But she lacks vision, and that was costly.

Dotard is an intellectual and managerial tit.

But he has a vision, even if it’s dark, violent and deluded.

She came across as fearful (never shook of that GOP attack). There’s a risk, of course, of going on these unscripted 60 minute talks but it’s one that we now expect a candidate to take

I agree that she was not great at articulating policy. Their big issue was abortion and her selling point was “if Congress passes a law I won’t veto it.”

That’s the most benign commitment on what you are trying to sell as the issue of our times.

If someone else does something about it you won’t stop them? Thanks.

I think we’re all making the same mistakes we made in auditing the 2016’ loss….by looking too granularly at what did/didn’t cause her to lose.

It’s uninformed voters, it’s the economy stupid, and it’s deep rooted old timey sexism.

I just don’t think anything else comes remotely close to those three in terms of moving the needle……debating everything else is just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
