OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Really itchy nose and mild cough today. Hoping it's nothing, but that's usually how my colds start. Gonna spin by the office and have someone bring me out some rapid tests. They only provided for the non vaxxed folks.
You're way more likely to have covid than anything else.

TLDR: RIP

TLDR x2: congrats on your super immunity. Rip off that bandaid and hope for the best.

London moving for sure. They do have one of the worst vax rates in the UK so maybe that is a factor.. But they're also further along in the wave than everywhere else. More cases = more hospitalizations. That relationship won't ever change. And for now hospitalizations haven't increased as steeply as cases there... But it's not TOO far off either. Nothing drastic. Hopefully that changes.

EDIT: A lot of the growth in admissions today was apparently from hospital-acquired infections >7 days after admission. Those have gone up DRASTICALLY with omicron. So you can't necessarily take the data at face value either. So many factors. A lot of them point towards a pretty hopeful direction quite frankly.

So where I'm from they're lining up and handing them out outside of the mall. Lines started to get pretty full at 6am for a 9am distribution. My mom heard about it on CP24 so she went and got there at like 9:10. She walked up to the line, security was sending hundreds of people home saying there weren't enough tests for the folks near the back of the line so my mom went back in her car, waited a bit, and noticed the line was still moving and pretty short. She joined it at 9:15 and with 7 boxes left she got one. So lucky.

I have a cold... I've rapid tested every day for the last week and everyone has been negative.

It might still be worth trying for a PCR if you can get one, if things keep lingering. I think rapid tests don't seem to work as well for symptomatic folk. Although given everything, if you don't have heavy symptoms, then maybe best to just hole up and not go outside until it all passes anyways, covid or not.

This is embarrassing for our government.

I've had a running nose and sore throat that has begun every October and ended in June since I've been 35 or so. I haven't tested for it, because I know my body and I'm always feeling this way. It's not a deviation from the norm...

Ms. Wayward went to the convention centre today to get some rapid tests. Lined up literally around the entire building. First she was told she had to wait in line, then someone handed her a pack of rapid tests while she was waiting outside, which was fortunate.

Both of us are negative today.

Everything at rapidtestandtrace.ca is now on back order. It's like no one in Ontario/Canada knew at home rapid tests were an option (govs fault) until they were like "oh ya hey we've got millions of these rapid tests, grab a few when you run out of Wisers".

Happy I picked up a 25 pack before the rush. Thanks to everyone on the board who were sharing links!

Place I order from is getting 9k boxes in ~ Jan 7th. They will be the ones with individual liquid. You can pre-order them now.
