They announced the will "deploy an additional 3,000" HEPA filters to school boards.

There are approx. 5,000 schools in Ontario.

I don't get why the 10pm curfew accomplishes exactly. Seems not really based in science?

Ontario's guidelines that they announced today? Basically same as the comments here. We're on our own and our hospitals are unlikely going to be able to handle the surge, which is basic math really.

We needed to do something fairly drastic two weeks ago to prevent some dire shit I think. Or something less drastic a month ago when I was sounding the alarm. It's too late now and I think they know it. It would have just been a matter of extending the wave to give the hospitals some breathing room since we were always gonna struggle either way. IBut right now we're basing our decisions on hope like much of the world.

Lots of signs pointing in a good direction on an individual risk-level basis. That hasn't changed. It's the broader societal aspect that looks bleak everywhere.

Thread on the UK who track this stuff way better than us and they're a bit ahead in the wave. Hospitalizations are increasing fast but it seems like less people are getting sick enough for ICU admissions and deaths. It's definitely milder. Vaccines work really really well. The disease might be a little milder too.

So Presty, my sister got covid two weeks ago but is mostly better now, but apparently planning to join the fam tomorrow night. She’s not contagious anymore, is she?

Had my Pfizer booster on Wednesday.
Had 3 naps yesterday.
I haven’t had 3 naps in the last 5 years combined . Left arm was crazy sore especially when I lifted it above my head. Didn’t deal with that at all with first 2 injections.
