OT: Coronavirus Resources - and other things to not worry about

Yeah I'm not ready to praise Ford. He's been fine.. In a way that Habsy thinks Trump has been "fine" and his only issue is that he simply "isn't professional." Ford has done the bare minimum of what I'd expect which is more than I can say about many.

Yeah I dunno about “praise”. Like I still sure as hell wouldn’t vote for him and he’s not who I’d pick in a crisis. But compared to the orange guy, he’s doing alright.

Ok. I feel juvenile but I just snorted when reading the great news that the IOC has postponed the Olympics. News broke by veteran IOC member Dick Pound. For real?! 😂

My friend Jen, lives near Seattle. Her husband works in the hospital. She just shared this.

“My husband just texted me that he was up in the icu where all the covid patients are looking at an ultrasound . He says every one of them are intubated and on vents.”

Also my friend who lives in Virginia shared that the governor has declared that all schools will remain closed until the end of the regular school year.

My uncle died this morning in Montreal. 74. Had lung cancer but wasn’t close to death. Family doesn’t know yet if COVID 19 accelerated the issue. I’m beyond sick of this shit. My mom is trying to book a flight to Montreal and I’m shutting her down on that.

Something else I shouldn’t worry about eh?

Can’t even go to his funeral. I really hope people are taking this seriously, I read people in BC were at the beach? Really?

And Florida, and California. All over, people not taking this seriously. Selfish fucks.

Condolences Habsy. Far too many good people are going to die from this.

He smoked three packs a day, even when on chemo. He brought the cancer on himself but damn, would be nice to pay our last respects.

Sorry to hear, habsy. For probably the first time ever, I feel like the media is not being sensationalist enough. They need to do a better job of adding context to the number of confirmed cases because most people don't recognize that it is only a fraction of what's really out there right now. We're all in danger no matter where we go.

Condolences to you & the family Habsy.

Families & friends not being able to pay last respects and help each other through their grief is a particularly cruel part of this too.

so sad. but yeah please try to shut down your mom from flying, even though it really fucking sucks to miss it.

This is really getting visceral for me. I feel like smacking people that are out and about for non emergency reasons.

I’m trying to set up remote access to the funeral for the family. Looking for a service or someone that can accommodate in Montreal. Anyone know of a company or anything of that sort up there?
