OT: Movies/TV Shows

Seeing pics coming out of Venice and what the fuck is going on with men’s fashion lately. Is this really what they’re trying to make catch on for the future?

Seeing Pitt, Styles, Pine, and Chalomet in their recent stylings…shudder.

Tolkien fans: "fucking virgins"
Fashion critics: "height of male masculinity"
Hey, I'd say it's pretty consistent to be a critic of both lengthy fantasy debates between middle aged men and male celebrities wearing skirts and open back pant suits to premieres.

But damn are you sensitive about this subject! I was just yanking your chains about this pages long argument. I like LOTR too, just not enough to debate the height of some female character at length (or whatever you guys were arguing about which desperately needed a presty style LOTR TLDR for the casual observer). I respect it though, as a fan of baby cartoon shit that never gets turned into big budget film fare.

Yep.

No one is suggesting that she's not capable of acts of valor. What we're questioning is this whole "scour the landscape in platemail with a sword for 100's of years looking to singlehandedly end Sauron should she come upon him, while severely outclassing elite elven soldiers in her company in fights with massive trolls" character that has been created here.

and they've nerfed her to create this fiction.

Look you guys read the books and came away with the impression she was a fairy princess instead of a badass bitch which is just you guys being wrong and dumb bros.

I watched the first few episodes of Stranger Things over the weekend. Really well done, some great acting by the kids.

I hope it stands up over the rest of the series and doesn't turn to shit.

you're just talking shit about something you know nothing about. also you can't read and don't understand the argument being made.

be better.

So HOD 3 was good, but I'm still trying to figure out how good.

Feels like very little happens in each episode, even though they jump years - definition of slow burn like Zekie likes. And unlike GOT, the cast is really limited to like 6 characters or so, there aren't like 50 characters to get to know and remember right off the bat, which I kinda like. But it does feel like HOD is missing GOT's explosiveness, for lack of a better word. GOT scenes seemed to hit harder or something and stay with me. Every week was kind of a cliffhanger. HOD seems to be in a spin cycle and much of it blends together, but I'm enjoying it because before I know it, even though I feel there's a fair bit of repetition, the hour is up.
