OT: Movies/TV Shows

I haven’t, was under the impression it was a horror/gore flick? Which isn’t my bag.
Doubt you would like "Dead Birds" then (another "Western Horror" type of flick) then:

(yeah, that's the same Henry Thomas of ET fame)

Nah i don't think so. Neither is There Will be Blood.

Westerns i think have to be about OG settlers or outlaws before the west was civilized

No Country is neo-noire imo, along with Hell or High Water, Lonestar, etc…..but I think There Will Be Blood toes the line.

Although zeke’s distinction of civilized vs not, does make sense as the line.

“I watch it every year, hoping I like it”
It's a good movie. The psychotic performance Bardem gives, and the slow buildup gave me major anxiety as I was watching it. I'm not into rewatching that one because it just frays the nerves all over again.

Thoughts on Appaloosa?

I enjoyed it, nothing spectacular, but a real solid 6.75/10….extremely easy watch given the cast…

Ive been reading a bunch of Elmore Leonard westerns, and quite a few are just short little novellas….’Appaloosa’ felt like a 175-200 page novella adapted to the big screen.

I actually Re watched Tombstone a few weeks ago and it’s still holds even if it’s overrated ( by those who think it’s the best western)

val Kilmer is a stud in it though
