OT: Movies/TV Shows

I watch a lot of movies, but i'm pretty sure i never made it through either of those.
the answer they are both terrible

i recall seeing Dante's Peak in geogrophy class ( fro reasons?) and there is a scene that during a crazy ash storm, a family drives perfectly on the road back to their house ( thats about to be engulfed by lava) to save a dog or an old person or something. Stupid Pierce Brosnan

In Volcano i think Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Heche stopped the disaster by being gruff and unlikeable

My god i thought i was the only person who not only seen this but loved it. Scott and Lemmon Steal this made for tv version

Also, shame on you for omitting Hume Cronyn, Mylkelti Williamson and Armin Mueller Stahl.

It’s so absurdly good. Would love to track down a copy as I’ve only watched the original version the last few times.

Goddamn tho, that’s a movie they should remake every ten years with the newest crop of great character actors. I’d go to it every single time.

I think maybe it came out at a time when it was sort of a dead period for westerns? that maybe it just caught our generation that didn't have many decent current westerns? i dunno.

And while val was great, Kurt also looked awesome in the role, and that goes a long way. Hell it has Sam Elliott Powers Boothe Charleton Heston and the great Jason Priestley in it so yeah maybe i get why it hooked people even though it was pretty bad.
Don’t forget about Billy Zane

Pirates of Penzance he was the big baddie too. or maybe he was the hero. anyways, the guy was born to play errol flynn-esqye swashbuckler roles.

I mean, 12 angry women, reworked with the right cast does it justice.

In Canada if you have the MGM subsription on prime, that version is on it.

Lemmon>Fonda and the remake is better than the original of 12 Angry Men

Also, needing a modern remake? Clue

That siad maybe leave that Tim Curry performance well enough alone

Apparently I’m misogynistic & racist cause I hadn’t even thought about how ideal it is for swapping roles, and the races, and the crime, etc…

just pitch perfect for remodelling based on the era & issues of the day.

like wtf….why isn’t this happening actually?

I do….thanks for that. Will def watch it.

Montana

I challenge you to cast a modern day 12 angry men and i shall do the same. Knowing the traits of each juror i do wonder if we will have any crossover, and i think we should limit it to maybe 2 genuine stars as there will be budget concerns.

I’ll wait till I rewatch it, so every role is fresh in mind…

Phillip Seymour Hoffman in one of them is on the list of missed opportunities…..and since he’s being discussed, Kevin Kline could have absolutely done the Fonda/Lemon role at one point.

Juror 1 Michael Pena
Juror 2 Stephen McKinley Henderson
Juror 3 Colm Meaney
Juror 4 Kenneth Branaugh
Juror 5 Daniel Dae Kim
Juror 6 Vince Vaughn
Juror 7 Jon Hamm
Juror 8 David Straithairn
Juror 9 Danny Glover
Juror 10 Bokeem Woodbine
Juror 11 Rade Serbedzija
Juror 12 John Stamos
