OT: Movies/TV Shows

I mean, I didn't laugh at the time, but did hate his Ledger as Joker choice and was fully won over and thensome.

So, I can never say never after that, but this seems super weird, smartest guy in the room stuff, that probably doesn't pan out every time.

Yeah it’s a bit reminiscent of Holland being cast in Uncharted, and everyone thinking it was a terrible choice…..I think they were largely proven right as well, I think it was pretty universally panned if memory serves.

I like Holland, and think he's talented. A pretty good Spidey if you're (tragically) stuck in making the high school Peter Parker version of the IP.

But I don't think he really fits too well in any other mold. He's not the dashing leading man like Brad Pitt or Leo or Bale, not the muscle-bound alpha type like Cavill or sometimes Jackman, not the edgy mysterious guy like Cillian, or the funny leading guy like Gosling/Evans/Reynolds, not the true action star like Cruise or Damon, or the goofy comic guy like Hill/Rogen types. He's one of those guys who will always look boyish and small, and then will eventually get old and look weirdly boyish and small. I think he gets kinda phased out and forgotten once his Spidey suit is retired.

That said, as I mentioned in the other post, there's no counting out Nolan and so who knows, maybe he has some vision about him that transcends and gives him a whole new career after the film comes out.

It's pretty formulaic but it's entertaining and if you like Bateman you'll like this.

Every Liam Neeson movie is essentially the same, from the "Taken" movies to "The Commuter" to whatever else he's done in the last decade. But if you like Neeson you like the movies even if they're the same movie.

Pay system was down today, so I binged Squid Game season 2 today...

Spoilers ahead.

I can't believe they made everyone 3 years for 7 slow-paced episodes and a exciting, but kinda dumb season finale. The main plot was to be expected, but they took their sweet time to get the ball rolling in virtually every episode. And in a 7 episode season, well, it feels underwhelming. The subplots throughout the season seemed like a complete afterthought, to the point that I wonder why they even bothered having any.

But, at least there won't be a three year wait for the next season.

It was very clear to me early on that it needs to be viewed as a 2A with 2B coming next year.

Zero chance anything was being resolved.
