OT: Movies/TV Shows

Pay system was down today, so I binged Squid Game season 2 today...

Spoilers ahead.

I can't believe they made everyone 3 years for 7 slow-paced episodes and a exciting, but kinda dumb season finale. The main plot was to be expected, but they took their sweet time to get the ball rolling in virtually every episode. And in a 7 episode season, well, it feels underwhelming. The subplots throughout the season seemed like a complete afterthought, to the point that I wonder why they even bothered having any.

But, at least there won't be a three year wait for the next season.
I quite enjoyed it. First two episodes were slow and the final episode dragged on but really liked it. Thanos was ridiculous but I think some of that might be lost in translation.

I actually didn't mind the Thanos character. Asian culture has a tendency of putting cliché characters in a lot of their stuff whether it's tv, movies, anime, etc.

There's Thanos, the over-the-top caricature of an "evil" character, there's also that dope that saw his boss die in the Russian roulette scene who then becomes the obnoxious and annoying sidekick.

that dude going from subordinate mob underboss to overseeing commando merceneries was wild

I saw Nosferatu, but it's overrated based on reviews. It looks good but is rather dull. Coppola's version from 92' is so much more cinematic and entertaining.
I'm finding a trend of this with Eggers' films.

Hm, now that we’ve finally gotten out of the dungeon area, it’s getting more interesting. That was a very claustrophobic first hour.

Wife and I loved it. Much more engaging than for us. Packed theater too, which we were not expecting last night.
