OT: The M-Fing Food Thread

I mean if that is your take, it seems to me like you are aware of how disgusting it is and want to remain ignorant so you can enjoy your food without thinking about how it is sourced/raised. But I will not ruin it for you.

Other than to say our current methods of raising agriculture are not at all sustainable.

I know that no aspect of raising and feeding an animal just to slaughter it and send his edible remains to consumers is going to make the meat-eating experience more enjoyable for me.

No meat eater should ever see any aspect of what goes into the process.

I actually spent one summer force feeding geese to produce foie gras...turns out they love overeating....but they're not crazy about getting killed a few weeks later

I've helped slaughter a pig or three in my day. Those pigs lived good lives but the shrieks of fear when they're about to be killed stick with you. Pretty traumatizing for a wee little lad like I was. Smart animals.

I have never had it in my life, at least not knowingly.

I did have some form of pork item accidentally a few years back in the form of a misrepresented meatball, and that was not a pleasant experience.

Beef is the absolute worst for the environment. I've tried really hard to cut back on it more than any other meat but fuck me it's hard.

Most of my jewish friends love bacon

I'm not kosher or anything since I eat meat out, I don't follow the separate dishes thing, and all that stuff. But I do follow the big dietary no-no's, and that's probably because I just grew up that way. Not eating any form of pork when you're young, once you get older you're like why the fuck would I want to eat that disgusting (but also kinda cute) creature? Not when there's that cow over there who I've eaten a million times before!

But these days, it's a rarity. Most of my jewish friends eat bacon too.

I don't get the shitting on Swiss Pigeon tbh.

Its just a chicken. Pretty simple. And very unprocessed relatively speaking.

And chalet sauce is ridiculously good.

This is the most accurate post zeke has ever made without using one stat.

Dead on.

The only reason people prefer chicken breast is because it looks prettier.

For me, dark meat and white meat taste pretty pretty similar. So while I do have a preference for the taste of white meat it comes mostly down to texture. Dark meat has a greasy texture to it that I don`t care for as much, and that you don`t get nice big chunks of it like you do with white meat.
