OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

So I was just reading this article on MLB Trade Rumors about the best trading partners for the Jays Catchers.

What was interesting to me are the suggestions of the Rays and Red Soxs as trading partners, as I don't believe they would make this trade in their division.

But they suggested a couple of interesting names:

The Rays aren’t deep in left-handed bats, but Brandon Lowe, Josh Lowe and Jonathan Aranda could all have some appeal to the Jays. The former Lowe is still signed affordably for four years,
Perhaps there’d need to be some pieces added to balance both sides of the deal, but either Alex Verdugo or Jarren Duran fall into the bucket of MLB-ready outfield help the Jays could consider.

Verdugo's shine was really dimmed (league average bat: 102 OPS+ last year) but I see an above-average hitter away from the stink of Boston.

The really interesting name is Brandon Lowe. Last year was a major down year for him (still an OPS+ of 102) but before that, in his MLB career, he had an OPS+ of 112, 125,154, 140 respectively. He really is like a 2-3 win player and Fangraphs has him as a 3.5 win player in 2023.

If Janson for Lowe is there, I would make that trade in an instance and then see if my "pie in the sky" trade scenario of Bo (+?) for Acuna isn't just a fever dream. Move Espinal over to short, and Bob's your uncle.

Bo's last 2 years of fWAR: 5.1, 4.5
Acuna's last 2 years of fWAR: 4.3, 2.2

So maybe the trade should be Acuna + for Bo. lol ;)
