I wonder if he agreed to defer too?
The funny thing about his take on that is vast majority of MLB fans would have preferred Ohtani in Toronto than LA. Ask the small market American fans if they think him going to LA was good for baseball. Why this is good for baseball, and all baseball fans everywhere should be eternally grateful to the Dodgers organization. running back a team that ... made the playoffs ... OH THE HUMANITY . GIF
Mediocre take. Just like this team.running back a team that ... made the playoffs ... OH THE HUMANITY . GIF
KK was worth 2.2 WAR last year. Sure there is injury and age-related decline risk there, but the best argument I can come up with to hate signing him on a 1-year deal this much is that a guy turned down a job offer 8 years ago.Running back a team that won 89 games, finished a distant 3rd in the division with the two teams that finished below us the historic, high spending titans of the division who aren't going to sit back and be happy with 4th & 5th...and was already reliant on players over 30.
They're also not really "running it back" yet. Their best hitter from last season hasn't been replaced yet, and the 3-4 war 3B hasn't actually re signed yet.
Yeah, this isn't good however the Shatkins brigade will try to spin it. Another year of planning to compete for a WC spot into the last week of the season.

Obviously they still need to add a couple more bats.
But congrats on writing your off-season recap in December when there are clearly more moves coming.
Wait, which best hitter from last season is gone? I’m blanking.Running back a team that won 89 games, finished a distant 3rd in the division with the two teams that finished below us the historic, high spending titans of the division who aren't going to sit back and be happy with 4th & 5th...and was already reliant on players over 30.
