OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

Also, MLB's pension is pretty pretty good. If you max out service time (10 yrs) it's more than 250K a year. Cavan is unlikely to hit 10yrs service time but he probably hits 5-6+ before the end of his career. Nothing wrong with 150K a year for life.
Is there a game limit to get those pensions

Those are great pensions

holy tits that is good

They have to wait until they're 62 to get the 250k a year payout, though, it's not like they get it from the moment they retire. From random googling, they can get it as early as age 45, but then it's only like 85k max they get.
well that makes a lot more sense

🥲
They are still young. If they can’t live on 85k get a job.

I mean, Cavan's 9m salary earnings to date should at LEAST give him enough to bridge to the pension time. He's at almost 5 years of service, so would probably be like 45k if he took it at 45, or 135k if he waits until 62.

But it definitely seems like he won't quite catch up to his dad in career earnings. Vlad should catch his dad in maybe 3-4 years. Bo should also need another maybe 2-3 years to catch Dante.

Yep, some really embarrassing stuff from Shapiro, as usual.

“We’ve done a good job identifying talent individually,” Shapiro said. “We have not done as good a job, collectively, placing that talent on a roster to win. It’s that connection between identification of talent, where I think we actually have done a pretty good job individually, but they haven’t come together to produce the numbers that we would expect from a championship offense.”

He also reiterates that he “really values continuity” in a way that suggests either a) Atkins is staying, or b) Atkins is getting replaced with another Shapiro acolyte who defers to him on baseball ops decisions.

At least there's no "danger" of him winning an MVP to up his value, with Judge, Witt, Henderson, probably locking up the top 3 spots

Need to find a happy medium , cant base it all on 2 hot months and coming off 2 good but not great years previously
