And we have that financial might because we were salary cap pussies when we needed to be.
Price’s LITR is real money.

it probably isn't much different than a late firstI initially said that I'd only trade for Laine if they took Josh Anderson's contract. On second thought, I like this trade too. I just never thought we'd get a probable top-40 pick in two years for taking on Laine's contract.
Gotta love the attitude..

Over $11.5M is coming off the books after this upcoming season - Habs will gain $10M LTIR once final rosters are submitted shortly… in one word FINEOk so now how is the cap situation
And I expect Price’s contract will be dealt post July 2, 2025 freeing up AAVFor 25-26, we currently have $14M of space plus Price LTIR
Probably too much water under the bridge. Add to that, Columbus isn't exactly a hockey city, or a coveted city in general. It was great to hear that we weren't on his 10 team no-trade list. Means he's never viewed playing in the Mtl market as a worry for him.He didn’t really get into why it didn’t work out in Columbus… they have new management but that didn’t move the needle…
Sounds like it was personal with forces outside the organization.
Considering all this and that no other team offered much, I’m still optimistic but cautiously so.
It’s actually an awesome city - good restaurants, very artsy in the mold of Austin, TX, Ann Harbor, Athens, GA type college towns like those cities very atypical of those statesThe CLB franchise seemed to be dysfunctional. Apparently it’s a decent city.
