If you want to argue that Lars Eller in his 20s has the same value as Lars Eller in his 30s, knock yourself out.

If you insist for clarification, the Lars Eller types who are past their prime and aren't third line centers anymore because they're past their prime and are therefore much less coveted, are available every summer.

UMM..wasn't Eller traded to the Avs in 2023 (33 years old) for a 2nd round pick?
 
A late first is possible for Monahan if he has a great season and remains healthy most of the year. Huge "if" I know but teams still want to see some durability to spend that.
 
I'm of the opinion that we're still very far away from being contenders and I would not be opposed to take on Campbell's contract if the incentive is worth my while.
