Shane Wright

I told you, Bobby Mac had him ranked 4th in the summer of 2021. Who cares about “most?” And it’s similar because Hall is a wing and Seguin a center. Who was the better pick? Hard to say. Hall won a Hart Trophy but is now a shadow of his former self and Seguin had some big years but now looks to be near done too.

Couldnt care less if he was fourth , there is no way he goes ahead of Wright for us

There was never a debate of Wright vs Slaf in any draft conversation

Slaf took off with his Olympic production

Hall and Seguin had similar careers with Hall having that one exceptional year , but it was 1A/1B well before the draft

Wright is the right pick.

Take Cooley and Wright is better and it's "you idiots you overthinkers" etc

Take Wright and Cooley is better and it's "well you really can't blame them for taking Wright"

Narratives matter

Do you think Wright will have a better career than Suzuki

And it goes to prove it might take decades before you can say who was the best player of a draft year…..5 years post draft, people might have still picked Nolan over Jagr, 10 years post draft Jagr, 20 years postdraft you can argue Brodeur vs Jagr

Personally it’s Jagr all the way

For sure. Brodeur benefitted from the Devils’ style of play, which was the most boring in NHL history . . . but highly effective and productive for them.
