They're a stubborn (and lazy) bunch. I doubt you get through to them. Their jobs would be a lot more difficult if they have to factor in yet another variable to their data. Especially with that GAR shit that those guys are so proud of.

I get it with the EW twins because they're so proud of their shift-by-shift model. I was hoping to challenge their underlying assumptions a bit and I think maybe I did but probably not.

He uses the worst example of any of the 31 teams to claim there is a bias. And that's just PP opportunities. Leafs have been hit the hardest by suspensions in the playoffs AND have the longest stretch of having a player suspended due to an infraction against a Leaf player.
Media like this is why that myth exists that Leafs are the sweethearts and get all the calls by the NHL. It exists in western Canada too. Just complete lies.
