The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Where did you hear that?

I can’t recall exactly, but on one of the TSN or Sportsnet feeds that populate FB. Anyway, I don’t think anyone even needs to tell us. There is nothing more for Sandin to accomplish in the minors, and if they’ve been so liberal about giving all these other guys looks during the injuries, they must be planning to bring Sandin up again shortly to let him play while Muzzin is out.

Probably just Chris Johnston saying "They're not afraid to burn the first year off his contract."

Personally I think Liljegren is more ready, at least defensively.

he's cooking up a trade.

and tbh, i'm not sure i bring sandin up anyways.

lilly makes sense because he's probably an upgrade to the right side.

but not sure sandin is much of an upgrade on the left side, and i'm not sure i want to gamble away a year of control to see if he is, especially since half the year is gone already.

I'm ok with both Sandin and Liljegren playing out the year on the Marlies. Only guy that i despise on the dcore is Ceci.

Question is how do we improve our dcore for the stretch run? Dump Ceci and call up Liljegren is probably a major upgrade. Do we use that 4ish million on a backup goalie and another forward? Any way that we can package Ceci and a prospect(+pick?) like Bracco for an upgrade?

David Savard has another year at 4.25 million.

Josh Manson has another 2 years for 4.1 million.

One of those guys would really solidify our dcore for this season. Would still be here next season if Barrie or Muzzin price themselves out.

Rielly - Manson/Savard
Muzzin - Barrie
Dermott - Holl
----
Sandin - Liljegren in AHL.

I wish there was a Chara like vet that you could get cheap ish because of age and not blow up the long term cap situation because of age.

Too bad Buff is done.

Doughty but i think that might kill our cap.

I like him better than Pietrangelo heading into their 30's. Doughty's skating will age better i think. Only thing is that Doughty would cost real assets along with cap.

Yeah. Some good vets on bad teams out there that would be options if they didn’t all sign milllion year deals. Weber, Suter, Doughty, Karlsson. Any of those guys would be a great addition theoretically but they are signed forever.

Jack Todd with an unbelievable take that Leafs get special favours from NHL refs. Please feel free to hit him with actual facts and statistics. What a moron.

Oh do take a pill. Good lord.

Yeah, out of the two, Lilly is the one who I think is really due for a call-up. Halfway through his third full season in the AHL, playing a top-pairing role and excelling. Unlike Sandin, he's also currently burning his ELC playing in the AHL this year anyway and we're past the point in the season where he'd be able to burn a year of RFA eligibility, so nothing to lose by calling him up.

And as you mention, a more obvious upgrade on what we've currently got seeing as he plays the right side. With Sandin there's less of a rush, aside from my burning desire to get Martin Marincin out of our lineup while we're waiting for Muzzin to get back.

Petry would definitely be a great add.

Solid top-4 RHD, signed only this year & next for a reasonable amount. That said, I fully expect the Canadiens to be buyers at the deadline rather than sellers, since Bergevin is desperately trying to claw into the playoffs and "win now" to save his job.

Why is Lilly burning a year when he’s only 20 and hasn’t yet played a game with us?
