The 2019-2020 MotherFucking Season Thread

Who the hell wants him at that age after taking half the year off. Huge no thanks. I can’t believe Dubas would entertain it considering how great the depth players have all been.
 
That Marleau signing was such an epic disaster. And hearing him get his useless ass kissed every second burns me.
 
LeBrun says we should look into acquiring Josh Anderson from Columbus. Can score 25 and has some physicality to his game. He’s not sure if they’d move him but he’s had contentious contract negotiations with Columbus in the past.
 
Yeah he’s struggling this year but LeBrun feels when he gets it together he’ll pop 25 like last year. He’s a buy low candidate.

But that 4 pts in 26 games is tough.

Could be a decent buy low. Would like to add Savard to this defense core. Would be a decent add to the top 4 and a pretty big upgrade on Ceci.
 
He'd be more of a 15 goal guy in Toronto (he wouldn't be getting top 6 usage including PP time here) and I'm not sure who he's better than in our top 9 when healthy. He's a RW...so on the same side as Marner-Nylander-Kapanen. Move Nylander over to the left side maybe, but then the left is Nylander-Johnsson-Hyman with Engvall and Soupy pushed to 4th line duty.

all of that is also conveniently ignoring that Anderson hasn't played well enough to crack our healthy lineup this season.

I don't think we need physicality at all, we need our full group healthy. It's already a good mix of speed, skill, and size.
 
1) who is Anderson replacing in the lineup?

2) what are you giving up for him?

when you think about those two things plus Ferris, I'm not sure it's an appealing match.

He might score 25 again if he lands in a spot that gives him PP/SH time and a legit top 6 role again. That place isn't here though, he's not good enough to justify that here.

We aren't in a position where we should be interested in middle 6 "buy low" candidates. We have a bucket of really good middle 6 wingers already that even Anderson at his best, is maybe, maybe a small upgrade over.
 
Yeah I'll take the opinions of these glorified TMZers with a grain of salt. I'm sure the nerd can figure it out on his own.

Lebrun is also kind of a dummy.

He spent almost an entire year beating off to his idea that the Leafs should trade Nylander to Carolina for Brett Pesce. And his thinking with this idea is clearly mainly centered around the ole' idea that size and truculence is a pressing need for this team.

I miss the days when the TMZ crew didn't have aggressive opinions. Stay in your lane, Pierre, Dregs, Elliott, etc. Buncha dummies. It might have something to do with giving them more air time with TSN radio, 5000 Sportsnet channels, etc but I don't care. Their opinions are dumb as fuck.

Some of them are really good journalists/writers. But they tend to have horrible takes when it comes to opinion.
