they're also without Muzzin.
If I'm an NHL Coach or GM, how do I use your results to make my team better this year? Do I try to trade Patrick Kane for Nick Bonino? Do I drop Ovechkin to the 4th line? Do I give Lucic more minutes than Gaudreau? Basically, if you were hired by an NHL team, what recommendations would you be giving based on your model, assuming you'd get fired if your team is unsuccessful?

There is a bit of nuance here, but I would say it's very hard with the current data we have to turn that into actionable information from a player level. That's not to say it's impossible, it's just very hard. However, given the amount of data we do have, I think we can pretty clearly identify which players are good and which are bad, we just don't have a good basis in the data for why that may be all the time. Ovechkin, Bonino, Kane... these are all questions that require different approaches, but I think you know that it's insane to say Ovechkin shouldn't be given every chance he can to score or that Lucic should be playing more than Gaudreau. We can evaluate players within a given season while also keeping in mind that in-season performance isn't always indicative of true-talent.
From EW AMA on how to use thier model:
Why is Dillon suddenly considered a trade target? Unless they plan on shifting Dermott to the right side
But I would still much rather use the assets elsewhere
Because any dman another team wants to ditch has to be an upgrade for the leafs.

This city gets way too caught up in winning/losing streaks. The Leafs are 16-7-3 with top 5 underlying numbers under Keefe.
