Must be a hell of a deal the Ducks are offering to get Vegas to lay off those guys. They're saying Vatanen and Manson were both left unprotected by the Ducks but the belief is that they have a deal with Vegas.
And Preds left James Neal unprotected... but same thing, they're thinking a deal will be made.
That really surprises me. Tallon has the reins firmly now is what it tells me.They didn't protect Marchessault either.
Escort sir. Escort.Hooker steals compiled expansion draft list: Confirmed.
Why didn't they have to protect the young guns?Kristen ShiltonVerified account @kristen_shilton 15s16 seconds ago

They haven't played 2 years pro.Why didn't they have to protect the young guns?
In order to be eligible for the expansion draft, you had to have two years of professional (read: NHL or AHL) experience in North America prior to this season. Connor Brown, by virtue of having played two years in the AHL before to this season, met this criteria. Why didn't they have to protect the young guns?
He did. Both in 2014/15, and 2015/16, actually.Right, forgot that rule. I thought Nylander played with the Marlies.
He did. Both in 2014/15, and 2015/16, actually.
But he split the 2014/15 season almost perfectly in half between the Swedish league and the AHL, so he must have avoided having that slightly less than half a season in the AHL count as a year of North American professional experience by the slimmest of margins, luckily for us.
Just have to offer Vegas more for Dumba than Minnesota is offering to not take him. Can't imagine that would be hard.
