The Fantastically Beautiful Joyously Superfun 22-23 Season Celebration Thread

What the fuck is he doing, honestly? We're genuinely becoming a fucking laughingstock. Who else is doing this in the league?

Knies will slot in nicely on that JT or Matthews line over Kerfoot. They just don't have many forwards available and have 12 active d. Makes sense to give them all a look, otherwise you acquired Gus for no reason. McMann is the only guy I wish they gave more of a look but they should be scratching ZAR for him.

No matter what they do with him, they acquired Gus for no reason.

People keep looking at the player card without looking under the hood. He provided very good value in Doms model last year, legit top 6 stuff as a passenger on that line with JT and Willy. It's an obvious outlier when you look at his year over year value.

With a crazy 11% on-ice s% last year. He's not as bad as his results show this year, but I have a hard time believing they can't do better with that 3.5m.

And while I agree he's been unlucky this year, his outlier was last year and can easily be explained by crazy shooting luck. He's a 35-40 point guy otherwise (decent for a guy without much pp time), which may be market value for 3.5m but you'd hope dubas can do better than that.

Kerf has had some of the toughest zone deployment on the team. Is a healthily positive possession player with solid 3rd line production, and has produced just as well with Kampf and Holmberg as with Matthews and much better than with Tavares. Super fast, lugs the puck miles, with one real weakness in his game.

Unless I'm missing something here, I don't follow this argument. His shooting % has been remarkably consistent the last 4 years, based on Cam's post.

18-19: 9%
19-20: 11%
20-21: 10%
21-22: 11%

22-23: 3%
