The Mother-fucking goddamn Off-season Thread

Dubas lost basically every trade deadline while we were contending. We need a GM that can fill whatever our holes are in March. Not about July.

Being able to identify and pull off the specific moves needed to put a contender over the top really does seem to be a very particular skill set that Dubas just completely lacks, at least up to this point of his career.

Take Jim Rutherford, for example. In general I think he’s a pretty shitty GM, but on a couple of occasions in his career now, in Carolina and then Pittsburgh, he’s pulled off God-tier moves either at the deadline or previous off-season that were crucial in pushing those teams over the top to a Cup.

And of course, in the best single example of that kind of move—acquiring Phil Kessel—the GM on the other side of the transaction was none other than Kyle Dubas.

I think Dubas' issue is he really abandoned his plan (Or someone did). Those deadline deals were crap.
I especially am pretty enraged at how we played our best defensively in like 20 years with Sandin/Lilly in top 4 roles, then he completely changes the D...Everyone knew the 'FDepth" was great. The only change on D to be made *if* you would do it was adding a true top-pair guy.,

Lindholm in a package for Nylander is the only way I'm not suicidal about a Nylander trade I think
You should definitely still kill yourself if it happens, because we'd fucking talk about what a shit deal it ended up being for the next 20 years.
