Basically it comes down to Jarnkrok v Timmins.

If we don't ditch Krok then our #7D has to be close to league min. Lafferty would also be a casualty in that case but i dont think anyone cares about him.

Literally never had a great round in his career, why are we bothering with the cap spend to find out what should be well known after more than a full season's worth of playoff games?

If he has the ability to contribute, why has he literally never contributed in the playoffs? Solid 2nd-3rd line opportunity through out his career and bad 4th line production. The fucking high water mark in his playoff career is 2 goals and 7 points in 21 games in 17 minutes a night.

Fuck everything about that. He's Kerfoot with a wrist shot.
 
I like Timmins. Be a shame to never have him play a long stretch for us. Jarnkrok does not feel necessary on this roster. And yes, he's old enough to say he's just shit in the playoffs.
 
Yeah, I'd much rather see what we have in a 24 yr old 6'2 RHD than in a 2 million dollar 31-32 yr old winger who is a known playoff invisible man.

Whatever the case, they shouldn’t dump anyone. Get value out of a Jarn, Timmins, Laff package deal.
 
Punt Jarnkrok and sign some vet for minimum. I’m sure there are guys out there on the scrap heap that would produce more than him for minimum. Especially in the playoffs. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Reaves contribute more than Jarnkrok in the playoffs.

Holy crap, Tarasenko still hasn't signed?

There's really nothing on that list that you can get for the minimum that would be better than Jarnkrok.

I thought maybe Tatar, who had a nice regular season, but also a big zero in the playoffs. I guess if he signs for minimum, it's better than Jarny, but not sure he'd do that.

Either way, keep coming back to the fact that $2M is bupkis these days. It's almost the de facto league minimum for a guy who can actually do something. The true league minimum are for guys like ZAR who can't, and would make us worse.
