Matthews has averaged 69gms, 43gls/77pts per season, and 51gls/92pts per 82gms.

Over the last 3yrs (including covid shortened season), he's at 66gms, 47gls/86pts average, and 58gl/106pt pace.

He currently ranks 5th in leafs history in goals with 299 - 121 back of Sundin at #1, and 11th in points with 542 - 445 behind Mats at #1.

He needs to average 24.2gls per year to pass Mats for #1 in goals by the end of this contract, and 89pts per year to pass him for #1 in points. Mitch will be battling him in the points race too though.

Of course, Sundin played 500 more games than Matthews has so far for the leafs, and Matthews can't catch that in 5yrs.

Its amazing that Dubas thought you could win a cup with 4 forwards that could create offense.

We have guys that can generate on all 3 lines for the first time since Kadri.

Bert had 5 goals, 10 points in 7 playoff games. Imagine a non core 4 forward doing that in a series (Or close to it)? We'll be in the finals given how we've lost every series.
