TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

They can ask for whatever the fuck they want I guess. This happens every year though. They ask for 4.75+, teams offer 3.. they'll meet in the middle at around high 3's or low 4s.

If you get your information from agents every player will be overpaid by 1-2 million. If you ask GMs every player will be under paid by 1-2 million. How the world turns.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Toronto was one of those teams. Fleury in the end was willing to go to Toronto at the trade deadline in March and we know the Blackhawks and the Maple Leafs were cooking up a deal that fell apart at the time. Which paved the way for the Wild to swoop in and get him on deadline day.

But I do think Fleury would be open to the Leafs among other contenders.

I don't think they get anything in the way of information from the Leafs and going rogue doesn't seem to be their forte.

It's always best to assume that these guys are saying what the agents who dribble info to them, wants them to say.

For example, Nic Deslauriers is repped by Quartexx Management, which is who Mitchy's agent works out of. Also TJ Brodie & Bunting.

So for an agency who reps some fringe guys, it never hurts to pump their tires in the "Toronto" (read: national) hockey media.

For Lebrun & the Diddler in particular, I always assume that what they’re reporting is either:

A) The agent of the player they’re reporting on using them as a sock puppet.

B) Made up out of whole cloth.
