TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Yeah, there was a whole contingent that was pushing 14 million dollar offer sheet rumours and those same people criticized the actual deal.

Toronto media fucks us over consistently with this bullshit.
Dreger had Marner on a private plane to sign a massive offersheet. He even named the date and time the plane was leaving.

Also Mrazek to Chicago was apparently very close to being done at the deadline so that's cheating. They're obviously extremely likely to make a deal.

Mrazek to Chicago makes a whole lot of sense for a bunch of mutually beneficial reasons for both teams.

Holl to Chicago doesn't make as much sense to me. Holl seems like a piece that'd be more attractive to good teams. Low cap hit, expiring contract, decent RHD, 30 years old. Unless Chicago wanted him specifically with the intention of flipping him, now or at the deadline.

Kane 50% retainded for Mrazek and Holl

Seriously though, adding Patrick Kane (with multiple retentions) was the big-dick, Masai-esque home run swing that I wanted Dubas to take at the deadline. I'd still love to see it, but I don't think Dubas has the guts to do it.

I'm expecting mostly minor nibbling around the edges of the roster this summer.

Mrazek only makes sense for Chicago if they are paid to take him.

Yup...Holl is the price for Chicago to take Mrazek and his 2-year deal off of our hands. And considering Holl's value isn't much more than a mid round pick at this point, I'd say that's a solid deal. Chicago can flip Holl at the deadline for a 2nd (deadline price vs. draft floor price), and win-win.

I'm just nervous it means the return of Bush.

I agree. That's part of the reason he makes sense for Chicago. They've got cap space available to sell in exchange for assets, they need a warm body in net (with no goalies currently signed) and they're tanking, so it's not necessarily a bad thing if Mrazek sucks.

Oh i endorse Mrazek if we're paid to take him

Adding Holl to a group of S Jones, B McNabb, C Murphy seems really stupid though

this is batshit.

If you examine Mrazek's deal and forget which team he's on, it's not nearly as bad as most claim. I read yesterday that Holland is busy trying to move Kassian, Barrie and Foegele at the same time.

The should load manage the shit out of Muzzin. No reason he has to play a tough 20+ mins every night in the regular season. He was injured and missed a couple months and stepped into the role the playoffs like it was nothing.

They should give Sandin and Lilly every opportunity to play meaningful minutes over the course of the year and see how they do.
