Kinda feel like Dubas is getting criticized for not losing any impact topline players while all the other top teams have actually lost impact topline players (Kadri/Burakovsky, McDonagh/Palat, Giroux/Marchment*).

I guess Marchment is comparable to Mikheyev.

Other teams have gotten worse, but that's because they were in cap hell. The Leafs aren't. Dubas is in a position where he CAN improve the team. But he hasn't yet. And if that doesn't change then it's fair to criticize him for not being a touch more aggressive here. Needs to stop being so loyal to trash like Kerf and get that upgrade.

Yeah I get comparing the Leafs to other teams but they were in cap hell, and the Leafs weren't. Just would be nice to have taken advantage of that. Leafs have had great cap management and are in the position to improve here as other teams get worse. So let's see them improve.

Campbell was top player but I get your point.

Considering the recent past Dubas went on another crease gamble, as he has before, but only with less term so he can maneuver quickly if the need arises.

I'd say the jury is still out on these moves.
