TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

It is pretty funny though.

2021

Price ($10.5m) .932
Campbell .934

2022

Vasi ($9.5m) .897
Campbell .897

but goaltending.

Whether Muzz is good next year or not doesn't matter really. The fact is he has been a top 4 horse for this team for years. If they move on from him it's a loss and something they'll need to replace (hopefully from within, because Gio can't be expected to replace what he brought).

Yep, 100%. Gio is good, and at one point was much better, but he's not Muzz level anymore.

Moneypuck: 3.58-2.07
Nat: 3.04-2.95

Both numbers exclude Tavares goal, so either way Vasy saved 2 goals above expected. The biggest difference was one goalie saved more chances.
I hate including PP in xgf%. It's shit and doesn't properly reward teams for getting the goalies moving. I.e. a bad angle one-time shot from Stamkos where Jack moves side to side is worth less "expected goals" than a stagnant Matthews unscreened shot from the top of the circle. Or a Rielly wrister from the point. Bleh. I don't like its accuracy.

I think Gio easily can. And Lilly is a beast. Sandin may be too. We’re dealing from strength and letting some other team take the chance on Muzz being healthy and performing.

One priority should be mobility on the blue line next year. Muzz, Babushkin, these guys can’t play our transition game and slow us down bad from the blue line out. Gio can still move, Lilly is awesome, and Sandin can skate too.

Ok, well 5v5:
Nat: 1.86-1.74
Money: 2.03-1.92
Real life: 1-2

Friedge saying something like this is Dubas' Kawhi moment. He is looking to get a big "truculent" forward for the top six.

I don't necessarily think you have to get rid of Nylander to do it, but it could be the sexiest trade piece we have (pun intended)

Make it a centre and moving Tavares to the wing

So we're back to "truculence" now? Why not just re-hire Paul Maurice?

Is Perron worth a look at? Hes still producing and plays a very similar shithead style like Perry.

you sure you haven't reversed the moneypuck one?

Nat: 3.04-2.95 (but with no score adjustment)
E-H: 3.42-3.25 (no score adjustment)
E-H: 3.08-3.69 (with score adjustment)

TOR made an expected late push with the Bolts battening the hatches to maybe give them a tiny edge in xg share at the end, but it was a very even game by all measures.

He's a name I highlighted earlier in this thread.

I have been impressed with what E. Kane has done this playoffs for the Oil. I think the culture in the room is good enough, and he can bring it during the playoffs. Perfect second line or First line space creator with a tonne of finish.

We don't necessarily need slow and unskilled truculence, but we need a couple of son of a bitches to play a little mean and dirty.

I read this earlier:

At all strengths, both goalies faced 57 high-danger chances, according to naturalstattrick.com.

Vasilevskiy stopped 51 of them for an .895 high-danger save percentage. Campbell stopped 48 (.842 HDSV%), a three-goal swing for Tampa.

The contrast becomes starker when isolating the final two games. The Leafs managed 15 high-dangers shots on Vasilevskiy. He stopped 14 (.933 HDSV%).

The Lightning managed 18 high-danger shots on Campbell. He stopped 14 (.773 HDSV%).

Again, that three-goal swing.Tampa won each of the final two games by a single goal.

so Vasi letting in more low-danger chances is a good thing now?

If you can move Nylander and Kerfoot, a big splash could be made with Forsberg... alternate him as second line C and LW with Tavares,

I wonder if you could get Radulov for cheap (I think he can regain his nastiness)
A Burakovsky I like his size
Trotchek hits a tonne
Perron
Copp
Nichuskin

Rounds out my list of top 6 guys
