TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Would estimate It will be up to Matthews what happens with Dubas. If he won’t sign quick come July 1st, then dubas is gone and matthews will ok the replacement that he’d sign with.
This is exactly what will save Dubas. They seem to have a great relationship. Firing Dubas might be a very bad thing to trying to sign him.

Ya leafs played at a 50 win pace with that shitty guy from Carolina, some kid who isn’t even an ahler and Jonas sandqviststrom combining for an 821 sv pct. Even if Murray flops they’ll be in the hunt.

The Leafs have built a reputation for handing out all sorts of signing bonuses, and front loading contracts. They did so with the likes of Kasperi Kapenen, Andreas Johnsson and even Nazem Kadri. All of which were traded shortly after the Leafs paid bonus. More recently, they did it with Calle Jarnkrok who signed a 4-year, $8.4M deal. Of Jarnkrok's $8.4M, just over $5.3M will be paid in signing bonuses, making his contract easily movable if things don't work out the way the Leafs have planned.

Interesting.

Even Tavares though. On a 7 year $77 million deal, if he provided $74 mill in value at the end of the day that is a fuck load of value. Its just slightly inefficient. But that was the cost of acquiring an elite center.

And that is ignoring the first 4 years which may have produced positive value. Tavares provided $11.6 mill in value this year.
