TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

I believe Dubas has a problem ... he can't seem to hang onto any capital before spending it needlessly. He never seems to wait to see behind door number three and the choices he usually makes are 20 percent at best lol.
 
There's no need to talk about this team like it won't be great again in the regular season. It will be.

Could really use one or two guys (Robertson taking a step, Jarnkrok or Kubel being better than expected) surprising a little from those numbers though if we're hoping to be as good as last year or take the division.

I really believe that this team is going to be fighting for a lot of its points this season.
I don't care if Matthews only gets 50 as long as willie get 40 and Tavares another 35.
One idea I had was maybe putting Marner and Nylander together on their own line. Sounds nuts, but if Marber can get Willy going and Matthews carrying everything but the sink out there on his line... let Tavares have a third-line matchup with Robertson.
 
The leafs are in murder's row. Just get the points needed for the playoffs.
You have to beat everyone to win and home ice is only for the bean counters at the top and last change.
Just get in healthy and then become the machine lol.

what do you think of my Marner and Nylander line idea? Is it brilliant or am I too stoned?
The dogs just told me they think it is a good idea. The cats .. not so much.
 
The depth forwards won't make or break this team in the regular season. You will need more scoring from that group in the playoffs than we have gotten the last few yeas, but that part is easy. You can always get guys like Lehkonen for nothing at the deadline. Either kids can take a leap, or they have to acquire a couple wingers at the deadline. The key will be targeting good players, not gud pros.

Its the goaltending that is the big question mark.

They need those guys to not be two of the worst goalies in the league, like they have been.

See, I find myself getting cautiously optimistic about our goalie situation and then I get brought back to earth with statements like this lol.

Still channeling positivity. Goaltending will be fine. Murray heater for the playoffs and we laugh.

If it makes you feel any better, in the 38 games of Mrazek, Kallgren, Woll we played at a 110 point pace.
 
Compared to last year, the only reasonable downside i see is never getting that insane 20 game stretch from Jack at the start of the year. From December 1st onward, we had a team .888%

Murray and Samsonov are unlikely to be worse than that.
 
I mostly care about Murray being not shit and getting him to the dance healthy.

We just need a heater and he's got 2 of note on his record already. He's not going to be rattled by the pressure of the playoffs.

Samsonov I'm not expecting much from. 910 would be bonus from him.
