Tall order. Maybe some high-dose psilocybin to open up some new neural pathways so Barb can rebuild that Jason Allison stride of his. That and the horse meat diet. Then maybe he'll be alright at 35.
 
Luxury tax would def achieve more spending. Though as we all know being fans of this team that it’s not how much they spend but how they spend. Those Leafs teams pre cap were dog shit save for a few year despite spending top dollar.

Considering the amount of revenue the top teams bring in there should be a lux tax system to incentivize more spending. NHL is by far the worst run of the big 4. Won’t be long before they drop to 5 after MLS develops further.

Here's the thing though, it appears "Parity" isn't a great draw for the NHL. The other sports are fine with teams loading up. It's a big $$$ draw.
Fuck the poor teams. Honestly. They get treated better by Gary than his top money generating teams. The NHL is all about making Coyotes, Panthers work.
I mean what the fuck, Leafs can't keep their rink open in the summer or hire retired refs for scrimmages(None of these were against any rules, Gary just made them up because the poor teams who collect $ from the Leafs complained)? I mean fuck. What top market gets treated like this in any sport?

Oh it's coming soon . MLS franchise values have goen through the roof.
NHL was in better shape before Gary arrived. They were much closer to the other big sports.
 
Can’t wait for training camp and pre-season to get going. Matthews post-Hart is going to dominate. McDavid has competition for best player in the universe.
 


I don't think I realized Samsonov's Russian numbers were that consistently good.

I'm still not sure I particularly like that there's so much uncertainty with both goalie options but seems like a worthy risk here.

I figured one of them has to work. And our goaltending was so shit last year aside from a 6 week periosd.
