a more responsible defensive team?
the Oilers are terrible defensively. objectively.
they're delusional out there.

what is there to back up this idea that edmonton is a more responsible defensive team than toronto exactly?
"Sure he has an .899 and gives up 4 goals a game, but he doesn't give up the 5th."

edit: oh it's spector, lol.
Easy to understand why anyone watching the Mike Smith show last year would think they'd be way better with Jack though.
That guy was literally just missing the red nose and clown shoe shaped skates.
Tyson Barrie and Cody Ceci (both older and declined from their Leafer days) will be on the ice approximately 2/3 of the game in front of Soupy. Let that alone sink in...Literally nothing
Toronto gives up fewer shot attempts, shots, expected goals, scoring chances, high danger chances both 5v5 & PK
5v5 it's relatively close, but PK...Jack is in for a rude awakening. Edmonton gives up 24 more shot attempts per 60, 11 more shots per 60, 2 full expected goals per 60, 18 more scoring chances, 7 more HD chances....it's night and day. An elite PK vs a well below average one.

If Campbell plays like he did for most of his time in Toronto, which he probably will because we're the Leafs, it'll be a huge upgrade for them and hide a lot of the issues.
I'd agree they don't generally like Spector but... there seems to be enough of them insisting this is accurate.Spector is basically their Howard Berger or Steve Simmons though, tbf. it's not like Oil fans listen to/respect him.
Mike Smith Edmonton career: .913
Jack Campbell Toronto career: .916
With Jack playing in front of a very good defensive team to get there and Mike Smith playing in front of a tire fire. I don't buy Jack being a big upgrade there.
