TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

We will have another yesr of awesome stuff to watch and enjoy... matthews pursuit of another rocket, a couple rookies to keep tabs on, the will he/ won't he of Kneis signing and of course 24/7 of the "how can they afford bunting" conversation.

I appreciate the individual talents that Matthews and Marner are. I appreciated when the team was on its ascent out of the basement. I appreciated the playoff growing pains for the first 3 or 4 first round losses.

There is no way for me to appreciate an 82 game regular season with basically the exact same team coming off a sixth first round loss. I know they'll be good or even great. I expect them to be. I just don't care. There's no interesting story lines. Maybe if Robertson breaks out in a big way that could be fun.

Made the decision not appreciating 115 point teams or the best Leafs player to hit the ice in my lifetime would just be a huge waste. If we ever end up back at throwing waffles, I’ll be longing for this time.

Doesn’t bother me if others don’t care about the regular season although it’ll be sorta silly if they plan to tell us that over and over all season long.

Is a biweekly reminder that I don't care too much?

Honestly I'll probably end up right into it anyway because I hate myself. But last year was definitely the fewest games I've watched and this season just feels like a chore. Some of that's life and some of it's "just fast forward to the playoffs".

It's gonna be a blast to watch as usual but it's hard for me to blame fans for not being super excited heading into the year. Change is one of the most fun parts of watching sports teams, and there is little, if any change at all. I personally get the downtick in horniness. Would be a lot easier to get excited if they added another game changing talent, for example.

Campbell
Mikheyev
Kase
Spezza
Blackwell
Lyabushkin
Mrazek

So 1/3 of the team replaced, and likely a few more by the time the season starts (holl, simmods, clifford).

With that said I'm horny as fuck and excited to watch the season. This summer has felt very long and I want the Leafs back.

people have to understand the Leafs are a special case. ordinarily, sure a 60 goal scorer and a 115 point season would garner more excitement...but not every team has a 50-60 year Cup drought and 6 first round losses in a row. There's no getting away from it. I understand people's apathy, even if it seems absurd with 2 of the best players the team's ever had. This isn't a normal situation though.

Excited about:

Matthews going for another rocket
Going for top of the east

Interested in:
Maturity of Lilly and Sandin
Rebound from Tavares after an actual offseason
Robertson breaking into the top 6
Do we get some positive voodoo with our tandem
