TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

And if Robertson is ready:

Core 5th - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Nylander
Robertson - Jarnkrok - Engvall
ZAR - Kampf - NAK

SumYungGuy may be as good as Core 5th one day! They're both fantastic players though and the Leafs are blessed to have them on their team.

I mean, I’m not sure how you can look at the lineup you posted on the last page and figure that we’ll get much offense out of those bottom-2 lines.

Though I guess it helps your level of faith if you love Kerfoot and believe that “SumYungGuy” turns into a legit scorer with some play driving abilities.

Last 2 yrs paces all strengths:

i'm including Duclair in florid'as top 6 there even though he might not be able to play and they don't really have cap to fit him in anyways.

It's annoying to say when you have 4 elite PPG forwards, but we need a fifth.

Getting that Core 5 would bump everyone who looks a little out of place down one, and gets rid of the weakest player altogether. I've been waiting for this trade since the deadline, don't know if it's coming before the next deadline, but:

Core 5th - Matthews - Marner
Bunting - Tavares - Nylander
Engvall- Jarnkrok - Kerfoot
ZAR - Kampf - NAK

You have to sacrifice on D to make that happen because the scoring has let us down when it mattered every single playoffs so far. And the answer is already giftwrapped in the form of Sandin ready to step in and needing to get a contract, and Muzz being too much of a risk to continue with at that salary. Bring in Sandin as a regular, and trade Muzz and Kerf in some package to get Mr. Core 5th. That's the only way this lameass offseason ends up successful.
I feel Dubas goes for it at the deadline this year. I agree, scoring is clearly the issue in the playoffs. Add a 5th forward with great skill.
I wanted Muzz gone this summer. Not happening though, The cap would have been nice and we have Sandin.

Well I don't know your definition of "much offense" so I wouldn't know how to answer that.

The group looks good for a ~60gl pace without counting PP goals. (In a scenario where no kids make the team).

it looked like we needed more goals from the bottom 6 in the playoffs. agree or disagree?

5gls in 7gms. 59gl pace. (no pp goals.)

Colorado got 15gls in 20gms from their bottom 6, 62gl pace. (non pp).

we did outscore and outplay the bolts.

if there's anything you want to blame for the loss is that somehow we let tampa's bottom 6 score 10 goals on us. (they only scored 8 more goals in their other 16 playoffs games).

so you disagree...but then point to the fact that the Bolts bottom 6 racked up goals against us

you kill me buddy.

only because letting their bottom 6 score way more than they usually do is a different thing than our bottom 6 scoring at a good and usual rate.
