I think we're going to see an interesting trade market this summer. A lot of good teams have to feel like they're not complete but aren't in a cap position to make significant additions through free agency and then there's a lot of mediocre to bad teams that are locked into their cores as well and don't have a ton of wiggle room.
- wtf is Boston going to do? Can't see them sitting on their hands, regardless of the injuries. Pastrnak allegedly in play. Have to assume the DeBrusk saga is finally addressed. They've gotta at least shuffle some deck chairs, no?
- Florida wants to move Bobrovsky but we all know they can't. Hubie going into the last season of a sweetheart team friendly deal, he's going to want Marner money. Only way for them to make significant moves is to try to fleece someone who values their goofy depth.
- Philly sucks but is capped out and most of their contracts are tough to move. To take their annual bad swing at the UFA market they're either going to have to move Konecny (who allegedly they've tried to move with little interest) or Sandheim, who is going into the last year of his RFA deal.
- Edmonton is capped out, is desperate to appease Connor, and if they more or less stand pat, will return a roster not as good as the one that just got mauled by the Avs.
- We're cap fucked and appear to still need things to reach the next level. Our saving grace here is that we can clear cap fairly easily and the players we would/could easily move away from were part of the problem.
- Wtf does Washington do? Old, locked in, no goaltending. They're the most likely bet to overpay for UFA goaltending and cut from elsewhere, but their blueline is pretty grim too.
