TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Lehner is another guy coming off shoulder surgery. Nut case can go either way in this market. I’d wager the city and media would eat him alive.

I wonder if Washington will move Samsonov. He’s struggled but has pedigree. He’s an upside play.

The last goalie they acquired with wires crossed ended up being the best goalie we had in the last 20 years

Maybe roll that dice again

It’d be pretty awesome to have a psycho come in and give zero fucks about the media and thrive.

We’re due one of those. It’s really too bad our management was a bunch of goofs trading Tukka Rask. He is one of those psychos that would’ve been loved here.

Not sure if you're aware, but if we give up fewer goals, you can also win that way too. When your team finishes 22nd in SV% in the regular season, and then gives you a .897 in the playoffs, you should consider improving your goaltending.

Like I always say, if you're not last you're first.

Going into next year with Kallgren-Woll and adding to the group up front with the money would revolutionize hockey.

Unless you expect your goalie to shut out the other side and win 1-0 like we needed in Game 7 last year or expect your goalie to be limited to one goal allowed and get to OT in Game 7 this year and hope to SCORE another, the goaltending didn't lose us anything.

I get that you're focused on Game 6 and 7, and for good reason. But there were other games in the series where goaltending could have made a difference for us.

Just think, one day the 6th highest paid player in the league might get past Alyn McCauley level production in the postseason for us. I mean, probably not. But it could happen! And if it does, we'll want to be ready with goaltending.

If you're gonna make the statement that goaltending doesn't matter there's no sense in half measures. Think of all the money you'd save with Kallgren-Woll. Revolutionary idea.
It matters obviously but other than a few guys, you can’t reasonably rely on any to come through. So $5m or $6m for say some guy who’d be Jack+ or $3.5m for Jack? East choice.

Works both ways. But we were up 3-2. At that point, games 6/7 are all that matter unless it should be reasonable to expect to sweep or beat everyone in 5 games.
