TML? More like FML, amirite? Yet Another Off Season Thread

Crosscheck to the head for that modesty. 😂

I know I know, don't talk so loose mate!

Bartend, another Lagunas por favor

Listening to Dubas and this stands out

"we have our own flexibility in different things that we can do... up front it's very flexible in terms of what we can add"

Except it's not that flexible, Kyle.

Unless you do the LOF thing.

Fuck you LOF.

The theme of his presser was "we have a lot of flexibility and things we can do." They may not be married to doing the LOF thing but that may be the "flexibility" he's referring to. Because yeah, otherwise it's just bargain bin shit, with maybe a Kerf trade and a straight swap out for him.

Lost in all of this is that once again Jonas had a 0% success rate in predicting moves. Fuck he sucks
Not only is he bad at predicting moves, he’s somehow also become an expert at shooting down suggestions that actually end up happening. Mrazek to Chicago with full retention, anyone??

The flexibility is that he knows he can trade kerf and holl if better options present themselves.

Take that LOF
That’s not flexibility.

He can trade Kerf but then immediately has to replace his offense. I expect him to, and that’s where Strome hopefully comes in, but that’s mostly sideways.

He can trade Holl but then has to replace him with some other depth dman, savings of maybe $1m? Not adding much with that.

The only way to create flexibility to legitimately ADD something and not just some sideways move, is by trading one of the $5m+ salaries. So which of those do we expect that he’d actually trade? The muzzibilities are not exactly endless.

All of that said, it’s starting to look like he may not have much available out there to add. Miller? Garland? Nucks seem like the best trade partner. My big swing would’ve been Forsberg but he never made it to market.

Admittedly this is how I read his comments too. It would be a straight swap. It doesn't allow them to "add" up front as he kept mentioning throughout. Kerf for Strome is simply adding something after subtracting something. That's not the feeling I got with his nonstop mentions of flexibility for adding up front.

But he may not be married to the idea anyway. It's all about what he can do with the money and whether he can improve the team with it. I'm not convinced he can, but it's worth monitoring.

He also said he wants a big physical RHD. And I bet he's a mainstay in the lineup to play with Rielly. So Holl is obviously gone, but we knew that.
