2019-Whenever Misc. Grab Bag Thread

Oops. I was reading the earlier threads about English/Welsh Football, and just assumed "Keith Locker at Shamrock Waterproofing" was an upcoming match!
The funny thing is that I know Keith quite well...his son and my son were buddies through middle school and I coached both of them in youth hockey.

Circling back to the flying/airlines discussion from earlier... if you're flying coach on a 737 Max, go for row 14. Exit row with boatloads of legroom, decent view out the window (we were coming back from Iceland and I got some great pix of Greenland), and they require you to put all your carry-ons in overhead - nothing under the seat in front (at least Icelandair does). Easiest long haul flight I ever had that wasn't in business class, or a completely empty row.

Edit: Plus the Max has overhead bins like a widebody. Loads of room up there.

The max also comes with a sunroof.

We’ll be heading into hockey season without Luke DeCock. He‘s taking a short leave of absence to take care of a family member and will be gone until October or November.

I was disappointed that the league moved the Panthers/Giants game to Munich. I was gonna hop on a train, get cheap tickets, watch the game, get on a train back. After the way those 2 teams played today, I’m glad the league did it, saved me from wasting the day and a few bucks.

Expected them not to be good but now they may challenge the Lions and Browns
Look ... there's layers to "not good." Apparently they're still stuck in the hopeless and unwatchable layer. And that's fine. I've got plenty of stuff to do on most Sundays. And if not, then naps are nice

I just want to know how this will grow the game. Very bad football isn't good for the eyes

We played golf, finished the round at 3:30, got in the car, my wife turned the game on, the announcer for the Panthers said the words "nightmare afternoon", and we put on music.

The NFL needs to start relegation. The Panthers shouldn’t even be anywhere close to the NFL. Until that mush brain, Tepper sells the team we’re doomed
Is there another pro football league to do the relegation with?

And one that would want the Panthers?

Someone on Twitter suggested they be relegated to the Sun Belt. They might be competitive there. Maybe.
SoCon might be a better fit. Same roster size in FCS, plus most of them already know how to get to Wofford :0)

After two series of possessions yesterday, the Panthers were officially eliminated from playoff contention...I have never saw "HOPE" dashed so quickly for a team in any of the major sports as quickly as the opening few minutes of the shit sandwich they served up!

Again, I think the only real hope involved was hoping that they could muster some kind of offense ... given that they hired an OC as head coach and seemed to have that in mind with their personnel decisions. Instead, they got worse on D and are stuck in the same place on offense. As bad as last season was, this one could well be worse.

The PWHL unveiled names, color schemes, and logos for their six franchises—Boston Fleet, Minnesota Frost, Montreal Victoire, New York Sirens, Ottawa Charge, and Toronto Sceptres.

Saints fan here. I was gobsmacked by the Panthers play— looked like a bunch of keystone cops. It’s one thing to get beaten, it’s completely inexcusable for the Panthers to look so unprepared. With a team like the Panthers, it’s really hard for me to believe the Saints are that good— but I’m hoping!
