I would assume no pay if you don't play. some guys may try to head to Europe but probably too late for that now.

Also looks like Nashville sending AHL guys to Chicago with the Canes guys. If that happens the AHL only guys may not have a team unless they go to ECHL.

I can't imagine the ECHL will be playing this season. Their survival almost has to involve butts in the stands and advertising. They will all just bleed money without people in the arenas.

The ECHL starts tomorrow night. The Canadian teams cancelled, there are only 2, in Brampton and St. John’s. There are 10 US based teams that opted out too.

Looks like Sinclair has set up an astroturfing website intended to get people to complain to Hulu and Youtube about the lack of regional sports channels in their area. gethomesportsnow.com or something like that. getmyhometeams.com maybe?

They have. Please don't indulge that nonsense. If you want to pressure your provider, it's better to do so directly to their customer service portal.

Glad some teams decided to give it a go, but that is nuts to me.
I mean ... same for the AHL really. The only reason for them to actually play is to give NHL prospects a place to play. There's zero chance they can do anything other than lose boatloads of money.

Was on the phone with Directv today to see what the damages are for NHL Center Ice this season with the abbreviated schedule. Sounds like $115 for the full season, instead of the usual $169 or so. So just $28.75 in four easy installments as the professional advertising types would say...or for the low price of two skinny latte mochas with whip cream at Starbucks...

Go with NHL Gamecenter. It's cheaper and I find better. You can watch it on your tvs through the NHL app on the smarttv function or Roku/Firestick/PS4/Xbox etc

also 13 teams have sponsors for helmets but the Canes don't at this point . I would think it would happen before game 1 next week. For now the sponsors for divisions is a 1 year deal.

Not sure why anyone would call it gross news, in this current environment we live in with reduced revenues everything should be on the table.

I cannot blame the NHL or any league for being creative with everything when it comes to making revenue right now.

Is Gamecenter and Center Ice the same thing? Will I be able to catch my Hurricanes games even though I live in NC?

Yup. Plus you can watch it from anywhere if you're not at home. I switched three years ago. Never regretted it. Plus you'll get all the news clips about the Canes along with other videos about the players etc.

If you only want Canes games it is cheaper on NHL.com as well. Here are the package prices.

Unless something has changed recently, local games are blacked out on both the cable package and the internet package.

Only for nationally televised games on NHL Network, NBC and NBCSN.

They have a chat feature, you can always ask them.

I live out of market obviously so it works for me.

I think it goes by address as well. Just use a family members address that live out of area I guess.
