2023-24 Canes Misc Thread

The Canes have signed a sports book access agreement with Fanatics, according to the Sports Business Journal. That means licenses have been signed with all but 4 properties in the state; the Panthers, Charlotte FC, the NWSL's N.C. Courage and Sedgefield Country Club. From the article, it appears that Tepper has mismangled the Panthers/Charlotte FC access/sponsorship as badly as he’s managed the teams. Sources note that the team expected higher license fees that what the sportsbook operators were willing to pay. And the big guys are already committed to other properties.

And let's be honest ... the NWSL in this market ain't moving the needle very far. Maybe Malik and the Courage can piggyback on the Canes deal given the proximity.

I really feel sorry for Raanta and appreciate his time here in Raleigh, but this needed to be done.
I'd feel more sorry for him if he wasn't a veteran professional athlete. Thanks for the memories and everything, but if he was doing his job ... that he's getting paid for ... then this isn't an issue.

LeBrun tweeted that the Canes signed Aaron Dell to a PTO. He played 4 games, 3 starts with San Jose last year and was 2.71/.913. He also played 38 games for AHL San Jose and was 3.14/.898. In 130 NHL games, he’s at 2.92/.905.

Dell is like a giant bowl of vanilla pudding. He's there, but nobody's ever all that fired up about it.

People talking smack online, but 2.92 and .905 is better than any Canes goalie this year.. :ROFLMAO:

Some line mixing at practice today. But the big news is that Svech took part and could play tomorrow. Lemieux and TDA were the 4th pair.

Noesen-Aho-Jarvis
Bunting-KK-Necas
MSF
Svech-Drury-Turbo

Slavin-Burns
Skjei-Pesce
Orlov-Chatfield

PP1: Aho, Bunting, Jarvis, and Svechnikov with Burns
PP2: Drury, Necas, Noesen, and Teravainen with Skjei

RBA put the lines in the blender at practice today. Martinook had a maintenance day so Lemieux stood in his stead.

Teravainen - Aho - Jarvis
Svechnikov - Kotkaniemi - Necas
Lemieux - Staal - Fast
Bunting - Drury - Noesen

Slavin - Burns
Skjei - Pesce
Orlov - Chatfield
DeAngelo
