On the ice very versatile as well. Moves up to AM line and is competent. Need a 3C? He moves there and is competent. Good contract. Need these types of players to win.
 
Domi and Bertuzzi did add snot. And it didn't help them win of course. I dont think its worth paying $5.5 mill long term for that.

But to get a little shit, that loves mucking it up with guys like Bennett and Marchand, and is also one of the top 5v5 playmakers in the league, one of like 3 fast forwards on the team, and can play center for $3 mill.... it fills a lot of needs. Plus Max Domi just should be a Leaf.

the problem with Dom Dom has always been his remarkable lack of defensive awareness

his offensive output has usually been very nice
 
Not hard to fix making a cap per team that adds up to the total and accounting for the tax effect. Won’t affect players as it’s the same overall pot. Don’t see why this can’t be fixed as the tax teams outnumber the tax free teams to pass it at the board level
 
Tax overage hit for taxed teams could be easily be done as a supplement to the actual cap.

It's not difficult. Why they don't just do it is beyond me. The separate figure would make it super easy to track.
 
Of course then they'd close other loopholes, like Americans actually getting a break playing in Canada.
